Biography

Hello!  My name is Shawna Meyer and I am very excited to be teaching Kindergarten this year at Hawthorn.  I have taught 1st grade in the Granite School District and have been an Elementary Math and Reading Interventionist. I love teaching children and it gives me great joy to see their learning progression throughout the school year.  

I am married and I have 4 children.  I have three older sons and one daughter.  My daughter will be going off to college at the end of August, and then my husband and I will be empty nesters.  I’m not quite sure how I feel about that.  Some of the things that I have an interest in doing are:  cooking and trying new recipes, and nutrition.  I also like to go on trips with my family.  I like exploring new places that I haven’t been before.
