Noelle Mauri
6th Grade
I am delighted to be teaching 6th grade at Hawthorn Academy. I have taught for 15 years; 13 of those in 5th grade. My husband and I have four children, two cats and one dog. My family keeps me plenty busy.
Some things I enjoy are traveling, learning about new cultures, meeting new people and learning new languages. American history is one of my favorite topics (and passions to teach). I love a good story - movies, theater, books, TV... all the different formats! Anything that has to do with Harry Potter brings me joy.
I love my students, and value what I learn from each and every one of them. Working with kids makes me happy, and I feel lucky to do that every day. Students deserve a nurturing and happy place to love learning.
I graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii with a dual license in elementary and special education. My Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instructional design is from Western Governors University. Most recently I taught in a neighboring school, so this area is home to me and a wonderful place to teach. I’m looking forward to a great school year!
