Biography

My name is Melanie Cox, I am the Special Education Teacher for 4^th through 6^th grade. Even though this is my first year teaching, I have worked at Hawthorn Academy as a paraeducator since 2018. I am currently working on my Master’s in Elementary and Special Education at Grand Canyon University. I am excited to work with the special education students and witness their growth throughout the year. I strive to provide the best possible environment for students to feel safe, have fun, and learn everyday.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy spending time with my family, music, dogs, and motorcycles.
