Liliana Diaz
Kindergarten
My name is Liliana Martinez-Diaz. I graduated from the University of Utah in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Bachelor of Science in Ethnic Studies. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Special Education.
I began my career in education at Mana Academy, where I worked as a paraprofessional and later as a kindergarten teacher. After a few years, I transitioned into higher education as an academic advisor for the University of Utah’s Honors College. In 2021, I joined the special education paraprofessional team at Hawthorn Academy. I truly enjoy working with our students and am excited to be joining the kindergarten team.
A little about me — I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, but have spent most of my life in Utah, with some time in California. I have an 8-year-old son who is passionate about soccer — it’s his whole world right now! In my free time, I enjoy dancing, attending my son’s games, watching and reading romantic comedies, and spending time near any body of water.
I’m looking forward to another amazing year at Hawthorn!
