Originally from New Zealand, Dr. Wihongi has spent the past 33 years with his wife in Utah, now residing in Lindon. They are the proud parents of 7 children and grandparents to 7 grandchildren.
Dr. Wihongi brings 32 years of educational experience to the school. He began his career in the classroom as a science teacher before transitioning into administration, where he has served for more than 25 years. His administrative background spans the elementary, high school, and primarily middle school levels, with extensive experience across district, charter, and private school systems.
His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education from Brigham Young University, as well as a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership from the University of Utah.
Dr. Wihongi looks forward to collaborating with Hawthorn Academy's faculty, staff, and families to support student achievement and foster a positive learning environment.
