Biography

My name is Shaunae Behunin.  I am the school counselor and I love helping kids!  I was born in Utah but raised in California.  I came back to Utah to go to college and never left.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Family Science and Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in counseling both from Brigham Young University.  I am currently working to get a certificate in Positive Psychology from Salt Lake Community College.  I did my first counseling internship in High School but have worked with elementary and middle school ever since.  It is hard to choose my favorite age to work with because I love them all!

I am married and have 4 children….one girl and three boys.  We love to camp, hike, play card games and eat food.  I love to read, exercise, dance and eat chocolate chip cookie dough.  This year I am also trying to learn Spanish online.  Wish me luck!

This year with all the crazy Covid, I am really excited about helping students to learn strategies to be positive, mindful, kind to themselves and others and as stress-free as possible!  It’s going to be a different year but a GREAT year also!
