Hannah Lambert

Secondary Special Education

I grew up in Orange County, California. I have three younger sisters and a little brother. I love my family! I enjoy learning, especially about different cultures and languages, and sharing my love of learning with others. I like to read, make music, look at and create art, and discover new places. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Humanities with an Art History emphasis in 2013 and from USU with my Special Education degree in 2023. I lived in Japan from 2014 to 2015 as a volunteer for my church. I was blessed to be able to use both Japanese and Spanish there to communicate with the Japanese people, including many immigrants from Spanish-speaking countries. I started out in teaching as a substitute for a year in the Alpine School District. I then worked at a school designed for children with autism and other learning disabilities as a High School paraprofessional and later, part-time Japanese and Spanish teacher. Most recently, I worked as a Special Education teacher for 4th-6th graders for a year. I feel that it is very important to teach to the whole child (head, heart, and hands) and recognize the unique strengths and interests that every child has to offer. I love to connect with students and am excited to get to know your students this year at Hawthorn!
