Emely Puerto
Assistant Principal Intern
Welcome! My name is Ms. Puerto, and I am honored to return to Hawthorn Academy for another exciting school year. This is my seventh year in education, and I have had the privilege of teaching both second and third grade. I hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and a Master's degree from Western Governors University.Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, skiing in winter, jet skiing in summer, nurturing my houseplants, and spending quality time with my family.
As an educator, I am committed to fostering a classroom environment that promotes academic rigor while nurturing each student’s individual growth. My teaching philosophy is rooted in high expectations, structured and engaging instruction, and the belief that all students can succeed when challenged and supported. I strive to cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and resilience in every learner, helping them build a strong foundation for future success.
I look forward to partnering with students and families to make this a rewarding and enriching year for all.
