I am from a small rural town in Oregon where I grew up on my family's farm and vineyard. I went to Oregon State University to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences, and Minors in Spanish and Business Entrepreneurship. My training including working at an Alternative High School, an Urban Farm School Program, and as a Personal Support Worker for students with Disabilities. For one of my summers in college, I studied abroad in Costa Rica. I also found time to to travel abroad on trips across Europe, Iceland, Thailand, and parts of Mexico. After graduating I went on to pursue my Masters Degree in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. This program prepared me well for this career, with applicable coursework and over 1000 hours of on site training at a Clinical Counseling Center, Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. After graduating during the Pandemic, I applied and received the job as Hawthorn Academy West's School Counselor. This will be my second year at Hawthorn and I am so excited to continue working with such a great team of educators and learners. I am new to Utah and am loving living here so far! Outside of school I love traveling, exploring the outdoors, staying active with sports, and meeting new people! Most of my free time is spent mountain biking, skiing, playing with my dog, cooking new foods, or playing sports and board games with friends.
