Kellie Blackham

Special Education

My name is Kellie Blackham. I am the Special Education teacher for Kindergarten to 4th grade at our South Jordan Campus.

2021-2022 will be my 4th year of teaching at Hawthorn. I have enjoyed working with our Special Education students and watching them progress. I received my Bachelor's degree from Utah State University in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Studies. I worked as a Speech Language Technician for 6 years after that. In May 2021, I received my Masters from Grand Canyon University in Special Education (mild to moderate). Speech Therapy and Special Education are my passions, and I especially love working with our youngest learners (kindergarten through 4th grade). Helping each student make progress in all areas of their development is a challenge that I am honored to accept each day. I strive to create an environment where learners are nurtured in fun, safe, positive, and creative ways.

My husband and I have been married for 25 years. Our kids are 24, 22, 20, 17, 15, and 13. We also have 2 cats, 1 dog, and 1 bunny! We love to watch our kids' sports activities: soccer, baseball, dance, and ultimate frisbee. We love to travel, grill yummy food in our backyard, and spend time with our family.
