Biography

Hi!!!  I am Ms. Jana McLachlan--Ms. M to most at school:)  I love teaching young children.  I have been teaching Early Childhood students (K-2) for over 20 years.  For 11 of those years I have been teaching Kindergarten here at Hawthorn Academy.  I graduated from Weber State University with a dual bachelor of science degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  To better meet student needs I then returned and earned by Special Education endorsement.  I have also researched and participated in training to teach reading using best practices strategies.

My passions are my family of eight children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren and their pets--4 dogs, 2 cats, and many fish!  I also enjoy collecting children's books, reading, and camping.
