Special Education (Secondary)
I was born in Bolivia, South America many decades ago, I came to the United States as a Rotary International exchange student to the state of New York as a high school student. I later attended Utah State University and got a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Even though I loved math and enjoyed my engineering job, I was lucky enough to be able to stay home and raise 4 beautiful children. I have two daughters who are now married, one son on an LDS mission in France, and my youngest son who is now getting ready to study abroad in Brazil. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren.
Six years ago I decided to go back to school and obtain a second degree in Special Education. I have since then taught secondary math at the high school level for 5 years and I'm now super excited to teach it at Hawthorn Academy!
Some of the things I love to do are: biking, swimming, salsa dancing, traveling and visiting my home country during the summer.
