Biography

My name is Ms. Z or "Z". I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Once I graduated from high school, I moved to Arizona to attend college. I received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

I have been fortunate enough to be part of the Hawthorn Academy family since it opened in 2009. I taught at the West Jordan location for a few years before opening up the South Jordan location.

One of the things that I love about my job is being able to travel between the campuses. I love seeing students that I taught in Kindergarten. Some of them are much taller than I am now, but I can still see their love of learning and appreciate how much they have grown.  I love being able to work with teachers of all grades. I enjoy helping teachers try new things and talking with them about their growth as an educator.
