Hawthorn Academy offers the National School Lunch Program as an option for all students during the school year. This includes free and reduced lunch for qualifying students. Parents can view the lunch menu for our South Jordan campus or West Jordan campus by simply clicking the link and creating an account. Due to a 15% increase in food prices and a 50% increase in paper products, it is necessary to raise the cost of school lunch and breakfast. School lunch will now be $3.00 for students and $4.00 for adults. Breakfast will be $1.60 and $0.85 for Full Day kinder snack. Free and Reduced Lunch: you can view the 2022-2023 Income Eligibility Guidelines and download the free and reduced lunch application in English or Spanish. Log into your student's Aspire account to apply, or print an application and bring it to the front office.
Although Hawthorn Academy Charter Schools will not be serving meals during the summer, you can locate a summer meal site near you by visiting the Meals 4 Kids website here.
Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer
In a joint effort, the Utah State Board of Education Child Nutrition Programs and the Utah Department of Workforce Services are implementing the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program for SY21-22. Under this program, students determined eligible for Free and Reduce-priced meals under the National School Lunch Program or Breakfast Program, that are enrolled in qualifying school, may be eligible to receive funds to support food and grocery purchase.
Students must have a Free and Reduced application on file for this school year in order to be eligible for the P-BET SY22 funds. Currently all students receive free lunch with or without the Free/reduced application on file. Free and Reduced applications may still be submitted for this school year up to May 6th, 2022.
All eligible students with a Free/Reduced Application on file, will receive the issued P-EBT benefits for the dates eligible school reported change from in-person to virtual learning due to public health emergency.
Individual parent initiate claim forms, for students that missed school due to Covid related reasons, can be filed out and sent to RZager@Hawthornacademy.org until August 31st, 2022 for SY22 to request this funding.
