In order to apply for the augmented kindergarten program, your student must have been accepted AND had their enrollment completed. Your application will not be considered unless your student has been accepted, enrolled, and completed registration. Once those steps have been completed, a registration link will be emailed to you.
To provide extra academic options to the community, Hawthorn Academy is offering an Augmented Kindergarten Program for the 2021-2022 school year. Students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2021 and must already be registered for half-day kindergarten at Hawthorn Academy to be eligible to participate in the optional, tuition-based program. As explained below, space in the Program is limited and placements will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students who are accepted into the Program will receive nearly four additional hours of instruction every school day. Enrollees begin and end school at the same time as the School's 1st-6th grade students at the South Jordan Campus and 1st-9th grade students at the West Jordan Campus.
Hawthorn Academy will email out applications to the Program to all registered kindergarten students starting on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at 10 a.m. Applications will be in the form of a SurveyMonkey survey and will be submitted electronically. Applications will be accepted by the School on a first-come, first-served basis. The School anticipates that it will begin sending out notifications to those accepted into the Program as early as Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
There will be one Augmented Kindergarten class at each campus. We are considering opening a second Augmented Kindergarten class at the South Jordan Campus, depending on circumstances. When spots in the Augmented Kindergarten class are filled, a wait list will be started and students will be prioritized in the order in which their applications were submitted.
Cost for the Program is $2,950 a year, which can be paid in full or in equal monthly installments, August through May. A 10% discount is available for parents and guardians who pay the yearly tuition in full at one time. There also is a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $100 for students who enroll in the Program. The full Terms and Conditions of the Program can be read here.
Please check your emails starting Wednesday, January 27, 2021 to see if you have been accepted into Hawthorn Academy for the 2021-20222 school year and complete the registration immediately. Registration is time sensitive. You must complete the registration to finish your acceptance into Hawthorn Academy.
