Common Core Parent Letter Download the Utah New English Language Arts Core letter for standards Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures Doors open at 8:00 AM every morning. Please do not drop off students any earlier. However, please have your students here early enough to allow them to get to their class and ensure they are not tardy. Middle School students (Grades 6-9) dropped off at 8:00 AM will be permitted to go to their 1st period teacher’s class. Kindergarten students will also be permitted to go to their teacher’s class. Elementary students (Grades 1–5) will go to the gym until 8:20 AM and then be released to go to their homeroom class at 8:20 AM.
Pick-up/Drop-off Map » School Closure Information Hawthorn Academy will remain open — if at all possible — on all scheduled school days. Even when weather conditions are extreme, every effort will be made to keep the school open in the belief that it is in the best interest of the students. The option to keep children home when weather conditions are extreme is always at the parents' discretion and the school understands and respects the decision. On occasion, severe weather conditions may force school closures. The following information outlines the communication procedures that will be followed if school closures become necessary: Parents and employees should listen to these designated radio and television stations for school closure information between the hours of 6–8 AM. (If school dismisses early, the media will air the announcement as soon as possible.)
